As we start a new year which is already ticking away, it is timely for a topic like this to be given to everyone interested in business or in need of financial success. Dennis Inyang and Joshua-Integrity (JI) take us through guidelines for business and financial success.

Every entrepreneur requires three skills to excel – they are technical skill, people skill and money skill. The technical and people skills can be well learnt but it is very important to acquire sound money skills. You must know how to handle money to attract money. We are therefore going to be concentrating on ways of exhibiting skills for handling money and getting rich. Nothing impedes prosperity like poor money habits – Dennis Inyang.

ü Place value on every denomination of money, no matter how small. This is important especially as a beginner in any business or job.

ü Know how much you earn. This is important so that you can increase your streams of income.

ü Regulate your spending. Like a thermostat does in a pressing iron when it becomes very hot, it regulates it by bringing down the temperature. Don’t spend unnecessarily.

ü Wise people live in wealth and luxury but foolish people spend their money as fast as they get it. Be slow in spending.

ü Don’t spend all your income

ü Don’t buy for status but only what you need. Learn not to buy unnecessary things to impress others.

ü Don’t carry around or keep at home more cash than necessary

ü Watch those little expenses – they can accumulate to something that can be invested. Benjamin Franklin cautions: Beware of little expenses, a small leak will sink a great ship.

ü Save something.

ü Put your money to work.

ü Save and invest. Robert Kiyosaki cautions: The poor saves to consume but the rich saves to invest.
